Nezha Creates An Uproar In the Sea
哪吒闹海 BST022

US$7.95

Illustrated with pictures from the original animated film, and written in simplified Chinese characters and Pinyin, this beautiful book is based on a popular collection of Chinese tales. Storyline: Nezha was born from an egg. The Venerable Master Taiyi takes him as his disciple and teaches him magical arts. When Nezha is seven years old, the region is struck by a long drought, and the greedy ruler of the East Sea, who is in charge of rain, shows little mercy to the people. Instead, he demands children to be sacrificed. In order to save the people, Nezha kills the Dragon King's third and favorite son. When the old king comes to General Li to seek revenge, he lays siege to the General's palace and orders torrents of rain to pour down from the sky for three days and nights. In order to save the people from the flood, Nezha has to sacrifice himself, and then his ghost goes to his old master, to bewail his fate. With the old god's help, a new Nezha is reborn. He gives a sound lesson to the Dragon King who swears that he will never again bring disasters to the people. This is a great adventure book to enjoy and practice reading Chinese. An English translation is included at the end of the book.
