I Love You Like Crazy Cakes, by Rose A. Lewis

Illustrated by Jane Dyer

"I Love You Like Crazy Cakes" began as a love letter to my daughter. I wanted her to know just how much I love her, what she means to me and how much joy she brings to my life.

It all came about when she was just one. That's when we went to the beach together for the very fist time. She was having so much fun splashing in the water and running. At one point (I think I will remember this for the rest of my life) she looked up at me as if to say "Mommy I love you , Mommy I am having such a  great time."

Two days later I sat down to write "Adoption: One Year Later," all about the  joys of adoption and how wonderful it was to have my daughter. I sent the piece to a few newspapers and magazines.  No one published it, but  at least I had the story for my daughter.

A year later I sat down to write "Adoption: Two Years Later." That became the book, "I Love You Like Crazy Cakes."  I really wanted everyone to know how  wonderful adoption can be.

My daughter is now four years old. She just gets better and better!

The greatest compliment I have gotten about the book is that it is a simple story from the heart.  It touches everyone so deeply because my story is their story too...the wonders of adoption, the incredible bond and thoughts of the child's birth mother.  Many people have written to me and said it has helped them talk about adoption with their young children.

I hope you enjoy the book. It is written from the heart.
