I'm not sure what it is about this kid Duncan, but his crayons sure are a colorful bunch of characters! 小肯的蠟筆真的每枝都超有個性！上次小肯好不容易才成功安撫一群準備罷工的蠟筆受傷的心靈，這回又有一群新的蠟筆迫切需要他的救援──困在沙發抱枕底下的茶紅色蠟筆，被爸爸一屁股坐在上面，斷成兩半！（幸好有迴紋針細心照顧他。）小肯全家度假時被遺忘在飯店游泳池邊的螢光紅蠟筆，在苦苦等候了八個月，決定自己走回家。（但他的方向感「與眾不同」，能否順利到家還真是讓人擔心。）怕黑的夜光蠟筆打從萬聖節那天起就沒離開過地下室，當然是嚇壞了。（何況，他還得和自己畫在牆上的鬼作伴。）被擱在衣服口袋裡而流落到烘衣機裡的藍綠色蠟筆，現在和小肯洗過但還是散發著異味的襪子「難捨難分」！每枝蠟筆都有各自心碎的故事，他們希望小肯能聽見他們的心聲，快快把他們帶回家。但，什麼樣的蠟筆盒，才有辦法讓這群高矮胖瘦不同、狀況多多的蠟筆們都能住得開心呢？這次登場的蠟筆，幾乎都是《蠟筆大罷工》不曾出現的角色，但一樣的是，他們都有血、有肉、有感情！而且在結合實物拼貼的繽紛畫面、風趣幽默的故事情節中，玩心與想像力無限馳騁！
