Welcome to China! In this program, students will tour Shanghai and experience what the immense city has to offer, starting with shopping in a traditional market before taking an elevator to the top of the sky-high Oriental Pearl TV Tower. Then, it's off to the Nanshi District for a stroll through the beautiful Yuyuan Garden and a visit to a Buddhist temple to burn incense. Throughout the program, students learn about China's cultural traditions, history, climate and politics, including how many Chinese ride bicycles instead of drive cars. After sampling some delicacies in a teahouse, students complete their journey with a visit to the modern Shanghai Grand Theatre to watch a time-honored Yueju performance.
