BEIJING -- A newly compiled list of 100 patriotic songs for middle school students has led to a heated debate about how patriotic education should be carried out. The list has sparked controversy because it includes some songs that encourage individualism rather than dedication to society.
The China Related TV list is compiled weekly by Kirby Bartlett-Sloan. Kirby, an adoptive parent of three Chinese girls, has one of the most comprehensive TV listings of programs on China and from China that are in the English language.
China's Golden Age was replaced by Mongol attackers and an isolationist Ming dynasty. The power of Japan's emperors gave way to feudal warlords who made an indelible mark on Japan's history and culture.
