New Century Global Chinese Dictionary is a descriptive dictionary that contains about 10,000 entries. It features common words or phrases used uniquely in each of the Chinese-speaking regions, as well as different words or phrases used to refer to the same thing. 一部华人社区学者合力打造的新型词典，收录世界各华人社区词语大约10000条凸显华语的魅力尽展大中华文化的姿彩。 《全球华语词典》所说的华人社区主要包括中国大陆（内地）、港澳、台湾，新加坡、马来西亚、泰国、印度尼西亚等东南亚地区，此外还有日本、澳大利亚、美国、加拿大等地区。主要收录20世纪80年代以来各华人社区常见的特有词语，如大陆的“海归、黄金周”，港澳的“叉电、生果金”，台湾的“博爱座、拜票”，新马的“组屋、度岁金”。还酌收少量共有词语，如“层面、促销”。
