These manuals answer three essential questions for each lesson. First, what are students expected to learn about the lesson topic? Second, by what methods can that goal be reached? In addition, the manual clearly sets forth the 5C principles for each unit so the teacher can see at a glance the language-learning goals that each part of the lesson furthers.

The answers to '活學活用' are include in this manual as a reference to help teachers guide their sutdents in completing the exercises and internalizing grammatical concepts. As for '文化大觀園' and '入境隨俗', since they are concerned mainly with introducing the target culture and supplementing the language text, no special explanation of them is needed in this manual.
