Black Village and White Village is about two groups of people who live side by side. People in the white village, wear sweet potato powder on their face, read White Snake, and worship Bodhisattva Avalokitesvara. People in the black village, have black cinder on their face, read the story of Bao Gong, eat red rice cakes, and worship God. The villagers live in a segregated world, until the drought year, causing the two villages to set aside their differences and learn cooperation. Written in Traditional Chinese characters and Zhuyin, and is illustrated with beautiful ink and watercolor. An accompanying audio CD narrates the story in Mandarin Chinese to help children understand the reading and to also improve their listening. For ages 4-8.

白村的人脸沾白薯粉，看白蛇传，吃爆米花，拜白衣的观世音菩萨。黑村的人脸沾黑煤渣，看包公传，吃米血糕，拜黑脸的清水祖师爷。白村人恨不得烧白煤，却忘了他们的头发是黑的。黑村人恨不得吃黑饭，却忘了他们的牙齿是白的。不难想像，两村的人都不喜欢熊猫，也不喜欢斑马。这是一个黑白分明的世界，直到有一年发生旱灾，两村不得不合作……
