A collection of fun Sesame Street stories has been translated into Chinese, in an easy to read and certainly fun format. It is the book your children will want to pick up first, and they won’t have a lot of trouble reading it, allowing them to build their self-confidence of their literacy. There are six levels of difficulty, so that children can take a step up when they feel that a book has gotten too easy, and each level has a new and different story. Each step presents new characters, increasing the child’s proficiency as they read on, improving their Chinese as well as their basic language skills.

《芝麻街认读故事》是一套专门为3-6岁孩子打造的认读故事，共6册，根据孩子感兴趣的仙子、精灵等主题，挑选18个妙趣横生的芝麻街故事，激发孩子的阅读欲望，让孩子在读故事的同时认识汉字。每个故事篇幅短小，情节生动有趣，文字简洁，句式简单，孩子读起来轻松无难度，建立孩子认读识字的自信心。《芝麻街认读故事》从幼儿园教材生字表中精心挑选适合3-6岁孩子学习的350个基础汉字，根据难易程度进行分级，每册为1级，共6级。第1、2级分别学习25个汉字，第3、4级分别学习50个汉字，第5、6级分别学习100个汉字。
《芝麻街认读故事》在每个故事后编写紧扣识字主题的互动栏目，通过讲述汉字结构（独体结构、左右结构、上下结构、半包围结构）等汉字基础知识，让孩子了解汉字的构造，巩固所学汉字。同时，多维度拓展汉字学习（偏旁部首拓展、数量词拓展、方位词拓展、反义词拓展等），让孩子掌握举一反三的识字方法，在所学汉字的基础上，认识和掌握更多汉字。
