This series is compiled for junior-high-school-age (13-15 years old), beginning Chinese learners. The series is divided into six volumes, each of which includes a textbook, an activity manual, a teacher's book, word cards, and a workbook for writing Chinese characters. The textbooks follow the Five "C" Principles (Communication, Culture, Comparison, Connection and Community), and topics mirror students' real life experiences and hold their interest. In order to teach students practical communication skills, the books promote active teaching and learning methods and the creation of a joyful learning atmosphere. These workbooks are meant to accompany the textbooks.
