《熊亮·中国绘本》（全十册）是真正的中国本土原创绘本。其精神内核来源于中国传统文化，《和风一起散步》故事源于战国宋玉所作《风赋》；《屠龙族》隐喻龙的传人的典故；《灶王爷》描绘了传统家庭生活；《小石狮》中出现铜烟枪、青花碗、燕子风筝、红色灯笼等传统艺术元素。

所谓传统，并非照搬给孩子们一些气息陈旧的故事。熊亮将现代儿童不熟知的乡村生活和寓言故事，通过改编和再创作的手法一一展现。《长坂坡》《武松打虎》借用京剧中两出经典剧目，配以猫咪可爱蠢萌的形象，达到了耳目一新的效果，这在以往的儿童绘本中是极为少见的。同时其画面风格融汇了中国传统水墨画的技法，极具个人特色和辨识度。
