Ancient Chinese Science and Technology is Volume 14 of Chinese Language and Culture Course Textbooks and suitable for students who have mastered more than 1,000 Chinese characters. The great power of creation manifested in China’s five thousand years of history is shown not only in the unique Chinese culture but also in the great achievements of its ancient science and technology. The textbook introduces ancient Chinese science and technology, such as the well-known Four Great Inventions of compass, paper-making, movable-type printing, and gunpowder, as well as the production of pottery and porcelain, the techniques of silk textile, the plantation and research of tea, as well as the ancient achievements in traditional Chinese medical science, astronomy, and water conservancy engineering.
